Computer Center Information
Computer Center Overview
The Bartow-Frank-Durbin squad serves the Northern part of Pocahontas from approximately the Randolph/Pendleton county line down to Deer Creek south of Green Bank. The squad has ambulances and fire trucks housed at firehouses in Durbin and Green Bank.
The squad's Fire Chief is Buster Varner. The Rescue Chief is Janet Ghigo.
The squad members meet every 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at the Durbin firehouse.
Computer Learning Center
The squads Computer Learning Center is located inside the Durbin firehouse and is made possible through a grant from Future Generations WV.
Equipment available for public use include 10 computer workstations w/ mic/headphones, a printer/scanner and laminator.
Courses are offered on demand and have previously included:
- Microsoft Word
- Email/Facebook basics
- Basic Digital Literacy
- GIS software for search and rescue applications.
Additionally, we offer afterschool homework help for local students.
Hours of Operation are:
- Monday 5:00 - 8:30 PM
- Tuesday 5:00 - 8:30 PM
- Thursday 5:00 - 8:30 PM
Holiday Schedule:
We are closed during certain weeks of the year. These are:
- Week of Thanksgiving
- Week between Christmas and New Years
- Week following Easter
- Week during 4th of July.
Additionally, we will be closed certain days,like Labor Day and Memorial Day.
We wanted to keep some floating days available for unexpected things that could come up (like a Habitat For Humanity work day). We will attempt to post these floating days as soon as we are aware of them.
